On the 26th of February, 2008 a Youth Forum «Youth Hansa in Veliky Novgorod» was held.

Forum was organized by: Youth affairs department of Veliky Novgorod City Administration, Department of organization and carrying out of 1150 Anniversary of Veliky Novgorod events, Youth Hansa coordination group «Youth Hansa – Veliky Novgorod», municipal establishment «Youth Library Center «Chitay-gorod»..

Forum was directed to the youth Hansa movement development in Veliky Novgorod, and formulating of suggestions and ideas of international youth projects.

Forum gathered about 50 youths from 16 up to 25 years old, interested in international youth cooperation.

The first part of forum included speeches on the following questions:
1. Preparation of events devoted to the 1150 years anniversary of Veliky Novgorod
2. Youth Hansa coordination group «Youth Hansa – Veliky Novgorod»: projects and events
3. «N@vigation: Youth Hansa Volunteers’ Service» project.

During coffee-break the music band «Minstrel» performed for the participants, Hanseatic quiz was organized and an exhibition «Veliky Novgorod – Hanseatic city».

The second part of forum consisted of group work. Participants discussed and formulated suggestions and ideas on organization of the Day of Hansa – 2008, the Youth Hansa Historical expedition to Veliky Novgorod, Youth program of the hanseatic days – 2009 and created the script of video-invitation for the youth delegates.

All ideas and suggestions of forum participants will be used during preparation and carrying out of all the above mentioned events. All the forum participants have an opportunity to continue their work in realization of the suggested ideas.

Also forum participants were invited to join the «N@vigation: Youth Hansa Volunteers’ Service» project, a winner of the municipal innovation projects’ contest. Its aim is education and training of the group of volunteers and their participation in organization and carrying out the 29th International Hanseatic Days in Veliky Novgorod.
