Youth Hansa - Veliky Novgorod

Cooperation within the new Hanseatic Union is one of the main branches of international interconnection between Veliky Novgorod and Europe.

Every year the youth of the city – active members, creative associations – participate in the international festivals, organized by the members of the Hanseatic Union and the Youth Hansa.

The Youth Hansa activities are an integral part of the Hanseatic Days’ Program. Created by young people the Youth Hansa should help to spread the hanseatic spirit and continue tradition of the Hanseatic Days organization. The Youth Hansa network should carry out concrete projects in cultural, creative, social, educational, tourist, and business spheres.

Past Events and Projects

	29th International Hanseatic Days of New Time were held in Veliky Novgorod on June 18-21, 2009. 75 young delegates from 32 Russian and European cities took part in the youth Hansa program, as well as 35 volunteers of Veliky Novgorod local youth Hansa group >>>
	Within the framework of preparation to the 29th International Hanseatic days the Youth Hansa Historical Expedition to Veliky Novgorod was organized from the 1st till the 10th of July, 2008 >>>
	From the 4th till the 8th of June 2008 delegates from Veliky Novgorod Lyubov Burova and Natalia Matveeva took part in the Youth Hansa program in Salzwedel, Germany. Youth Hansa celebrated its 10 years anniversary, that’s why one of the most important program events was visit to the bakery and making a birthday cake and a traditional Salzwedel «Baumkuchen». Also participants spent a great time playing sport games and having barbeque in a Park of Fairytales. During the meetings delegates discussed opportunities of international youth exchange programs and ideas of new projects, as well as the Youth Hansa Historical Expedition to Veliky Novgorod, to be held in July 2008.

	On the 19th of May, 2007 the Day of Hansa was celebrated in Veliky Novgorod. It was devoted to the Youth Hansa movement development and summing-up results of the «Hanseatic Wave - 2007» contest >>>
	From the 10th till the 13th of May, 2007 delegates from Veliky Novgorod Lyubov Burova and Natalia Nonina took part in the Youth Hansa program in Lippstadt, Germany. It included official meetings of delegates, discussion of past projects’ results and ideas of new international festivals, excursions about the city and to the Centers of Youth Employment, youth parties, sports and leisure activities. At the end of the Youth Hansa Forum participants put together the pieces of puzzle, each decorated by the delegates from different hanseatic cities.
